Harley Davidson’s Military Archive Apparel Taps WWII Nostalgia

Did you know that Harley-Davidson built over 90,000 chopped and bobbed WLA motorcycles for World War II, and that nearly all their civilian manufacturing resources shifted towards the war effort during part of the 1940s?

Harley has recently released a 15-piece apparel lineup that nods back to that era. Dubbed the Military Archive Collection, the pieces include a leather bomber jacket, reversible nylon flight jacket, and WLA-inspired t-shirt-- which can be seen in this small gallery.

And if you're looking for trick bits for your Hog, you might want to peruse their just-released 2011 parts and accessories catalog; a copy of the 856 page "Big Book" just landed on my doorstep, and the tome is a not-so-gentle reminder that new bike sales only paint half the picture of how Harley manages to keep the lights on.
